Champions Trophy, previously called the ICC Knock-Out Cup, will be held in England and Wales between 6 and 23 June, 2013. Three cities will host the tournament's matches: London (at The Oval), Birmingham (at Edgbaston) and Cardiff (at Cardiff Wales Stadium). Champions Trophy was first played as Wills International Cup in 1998/99 which was won by South Africa. It will be the seventh and final ICC Champions Trophy, as it is due to be replaced by the ICC World Test Championship in 2017.

With Champions Trophy coming nearer and nearer, let us take a look at some of the Records/Stats of the previous Champions Trophies.

  Winners:

  • South Africa won the inaugural tournament of 1998/99 beating West Indies.
  • ICC Knock-Out Cup in 2000 was won by New Zealand when they knocked-out India in the final.
  • Sri Lanka and India shared the Champions Trophy in 2002 as rain disturbed play on the day of the final. The reserve day was also disturbed by Rain. Thus, the trophy was shared.
  • The 4th Champions Trophy was comprehensively won by West Indies.
  • 2006's Champions Trophy in India was won by Australia.
  • Australia successfully defended their title in 2009 beating New Zealand at Centurion.

Pakistan has never won any Champions Trophy.
